Coddle is a mobile app that simplifies sending and receiving gifts. Have you ever forgotten an important date? Have you ever spent valuable time think of what a person actually needs? Well, this app comes to solve all these problems. It shows you all your friends' tastes and needs and any product they liked. You can even ask them anonymously what they would like to receive.
This was the UX/UI Exercise I made to enter Aerolab 1 year ago. They asked me to design the Search and Explore screens of this app, following the iOS Human Centric guidelines and showing the entire process.
When starting a new project, whether it is small or big, it is always good to start with some research. I analysed some apps that could be competitors for Coddle, such as MercadoLibre, Rappi, Glovo and Amazon. These apps include product catalogues, search engine, shipping and customized profile.
Then, I studied the Human Centric guidelines and analysed some native apps from iOS 12 so as to see how they organise and hierarchise the information, in order to start wireframing.
For the Explore section, I designed a showcase that divides and hierarchise all the products in different groups of content. For the Search section, I designed an iOS style minimalist search engine that shows recommendations and the last items the user searched for.
